These are standard colour leathers. We offer them in two varieties: a more rugged option, and a slightly softer option. The more rugged option is extremely scratch resistant, and will hold up to everyday wear and abuse. It is a little drier and may require more initial conditioning to help break it in. The softer option is no less thick or strong, but may feel more supple. It will scratch easier, but will otherwise hold up to regular use.
Note that both varieties are the same weight (thickness), about 9-11oz.
*leather colours may appear different in person, due to monitor quality and adjustments.
Leather will tend to darken with age and conditioning. Please consider this when ordering.
Our non-traditional coloured bridle leathers are from a different tannery than our traditional leathers. These vibrantly coloured leathers are beautiful, sturdy, and have a smooth back (flesh side) that is fully finished. The trade off for vibrancy is a leather that isn’t quite as rugged as the traditional colours. While this leather is certainly not fragile or delicate, it will show scratches sooner than the traditional colours. If the traditional colours are 5/5 for ruggedness, these colours are more like a 3.5-4/5.
All non-traditional colours are about a 9-11oz weight, except Red and Zucchini, which are about a 8-10oz weight.

The Silver leather will naturally age to a grey-brown. Pine Green will age to a green or dark green.
These are incredible, vibrant, true coloured leathers, that we have always dreamed of. Unlike our traditional leathers, that are coloured through a dying process that allows the dye to penetrate into the leather, this leather is coloured using a surface pigment. This leather is slightly thinner than our traditional leather, at an 8-9oz, instead of an 9-11oz. The edges are finished in the default closest match, or a colour of your choice, as shown below. While beautiful, this is not super durable leather, and is not recommended for heavy wear, use in water, or for dogs who pull and need a strong collar.
This leather will wipe clean with a damp cloth, but scratches cannot be buffed or conditioned out.
If the traditional leathers are 5/5 for ruggedness, these leathers are more like a 2.5-3/5.

Sometimes we see neat leathers we want to try out in small batches or leathers we can only get a small amount of. Those go here. Their properties will vary, but they are generally not recommended for water wear, hard use, or for dogs who pull.
